Where can you find daily FE practice problems with solutions?
Engineer Exam Lab posts one original FE problem every day at 6:00 AM Central and the full worked solution at 6:00 PM Central, with the first problem on October 4, 2026. For a bank you open on your own schedule, PrepFE, School of PE, and PPI sell large practice sets with written explanations. NCEES sells its practice exam inside MyNCEES, and this site publishes free worked problems you can use on any day you sit down to study.
Why a daily FE problem helps
A fixed morning problem is small enough to finish between classes or after work. You attempt it with the handbook, then read the solution that evening while you still remember which equation you reached for. Same-day correction is what makes a short habit hold, because you catch the missed page, the unit slip, or the algebra error before the attempt goes cold.
Putting a night between an attempt and the next look at that idea is simple spaced practice. We suggest the daily post as that rhythm, with a longer set only on days you already reserved for study. A 60-day FE study plan is one way to decide which subjects get those longer sittings and which days stay at the single problem.
What a good solution includes
You should be able to redo the problem from the write-up alone, so the item needs a clear given and a clear find. The solution should name the handbook section and page, write the equation, show the substitution with units, and explain why each wrong option is wrong. Engineer Exam Lab writes each daily solution in that form.
The note on each wrong option is part of the lesson, because it shows the path that produced that choice. Read it after you have committed to an answer. During the attempt, use the FE Reference Handbook the way you will on exam day: look up the relation, then calculate.
Daily posts, banks, and the NCEES practice exam
Use a scheduled post when you want the clock to start the session, and use a bank when you want several items on one topic in a single evening. The official practice exam is a separate job, a full sitting that NCEES sells.

Standard is the FE membership. Premium, the PE membership, costs $89 a month or $890 a year and includes everything in Standard, and new members get a 7-day free trial. The membership has no refunds, though you can cancel any time in Skool settings, with access running to the end of the paid period.
A weekly timed mock posts Saturday at 9:00 AM Central, and members post questions in the Ask category where the tutor answers with steps. Software generates original problems from the formulas in the NCEES reference handbooks, and every answer is computed and checked by code before it is posted, with a second AI model checking the wording.
PrepFE sells its plans as one-time totals with no auto-renewal: the 3-month plan works out to about $33.33 a month, and the 6-month plan works out to about $20.00 a month. Plans also list a strengths and weaknesses breakdown, and PrepFE advertises a pass guarantee, which is a free repeat subscription. For a closer look at fit, see PrepFE vs PPI vs School of PE vs Engineer Exam Lab.
School of PE and PPI sell FE Civil courses along with practice. School of PE lists FE Civil OnDemand at $349 a month, or $1,099 for 4 months, $1,499 for 6 months, and $1,999 for 12 months, plus Live Online plus OnDemand classes from $1,199. PPI lists an OnDemand course at $395 a month, or $995 for 4 months, $1,195 for 6 months, and $1,395 for a year, at sale prices, with Live Online starting at $1,295 on sale (regularly $1,795) and tutoring plus Live Online starting at $1,595. The wider price grid is on FE exam prep options compared for 2026.
FE Academy’s About page lists a lecture library in math, ethics, engineering economics, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, civil engineering materials, and fluid mechanics, plus a full FE Civil practice exam, a TI-36X Pro calculator course, weekly office hours, a student community, and direct instructor support.
When you want problems without a membership, start with free FE practice problems with full solutions. A worked set of pipe flow head loss problems uses the same solution shape: handbook reference, equation, units, and the wrong choices.
A 10-minute way to work the daily problem
We suggest you cap the attempt at about 10 minutes so the habit survives a busy day. Work in this order:
- Write the given data and the quantity you must find.
- Find the handbook section before you substitute any numbers.
- Write the equation, then one line of substitution with units.
- Compute, and choose an option only after the units agree.
- At about 10 minutes, stop and note the blocker: the lookup, the algebra, or the units.
- When the solution posts that evening, check the handbook page it names and the reason each wrong option is wrong.
- If the item felt easy, add five problems on one weak topic from a bank or a free set.
- On a review day, one way to split the work is ten problems across the subject you are closing out. Use the weekly timed mock when you want a longer clock.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an app with daily FE problems?
PrepFE’s plans include iOS apps along with its practice problems, exams, and flash cards, and you choose what to open. Engineer Exam Lab delivers the daily FE problem as a post in its Skool community at 6:00 AM Central, with the solution at 6:00 PM Central. Use the iOS apps when you want a large bank on your phone, and use the scheduled post when you want a set time to start.
Where can I get free FE practice problems?
This site publishes free FE practice problems with full solutions, including topic sets such as pipe flow head loss, and you can add those on any day you want more than the single daily problem. New Engineer Exam Lab members also get a 7-day free trial of the community that includes the daily problem. NCEES sells its practice exam in MyNCEES, and the price is shown after you log in.
How many FE practice problems should I do a day?
We suggest you do the daily posted problem on a normal day. When you have a longer block, add five problems in one topic, or ten problems when you are reviewing a whole subject. Those counts are our suggestion for how to split the work. For a fuller sitting under a clock, use the weekly timed mock that posts Saturday at 9:00 AM Central.
